HPSO is GROWING!
We are continually looking for ways to expand our services to those in need. Rather than spread our efforts out over many areas and accomplish little in the way of lasting progress, we are focusing on growing from an established base. Our first program
was our food pantry, which started in a closet
at New Life Christian Center
and is now a stand alone facility
serving one thousand individuals a
month.
Food
Pantry
The HPSO food pantry was founded in 1999
with a mission to provide physical,
spiritual and educational assistance to
those in need. The food pantry is a
registered distributor with the Golden
Harvest Food Bank. It helps feed
individuals and families eligible for
USDA and SNAP assistance as well as
those who don't qualify for government
assistance in the CSRA.
We offer
classes on inexpensive nutritional meal
preparation and Money Management as
interests is shown. The management of
the food pantry is overseen by the
Board of Directors
and is staffed with volunteers.
Food Pantry Hours are Wednesdays 10 AM -
1 PM and Fridays from 4-7 PM
Clothes Closet
Our second program,
The HPSO Clothes Closet opened in the
spring of 2004.
The clothes closet has both new and used
clothing for children, men and women.
We serve all who are in need of
assistance.
Donations are accepted for the clothes
closet on Mondays from 10-1PM
or you may call to schedule a time
that's better for you
Clothes are distributed on Wednesdays
from 10- 1 PM.
